Goal and Purpose of the Job:

  • Keep up-to-date with regulatory and technical developments, looking after LRWA members’ interests and contributing to future legislation, regulations and guidance.
  • Provide support and work with the Chair of the Technical Committee and representatives to fulfil the technical objectives of the members
  • Seek opportunities to expand and promote the role of the organisation ensuring that the LRWA is seen as the voice of the liquid applied roofing membrane industry.
  • Liaising and working with other relevant trade associations

Management Tasks:

  • Work with the LRWA Chair and Technical Representatives to develop LRWA technical policy and guidance. Liaising and collaborating with other relevant trade associations
  • Update and maintain LRWA guidance notes, code of practice and design guide
  • Research areas of interest to develop guidance notes, technical articles, and reports on behalf of the LRWA
  • Provide technical guidance for enquires via website and telephone
  • To provide technical audits for membership as and when directed
  • Write and issue a monthly technical email newsletter for members to keep them up-to-date
  • To provide and present technical training presentations where required
  • Field complaints that are received by the association following the LRWA complaints procedure

Personal attributes required based on Job Description

Will be an outsourced Management Service Contractor

Experience:

  • Strong background in technical writing, understanding legislation, standards and technical drawings
  • Experience of working with a cross section of external stakeholders
  • Technical knowledge of flat roofing and liquid applied membranes is desirable

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • IT literate, public speaking
