- How does CITB fund training for contractors?
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Levy is a tax collected from construction employers to fund training and skills development in the industry. The levy is used to support construction employers to make sure the industry has the skilled workforce it needs for now and the future. The levy funds are invested back into the industry through training, which helps drive up standards, safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
How much levy you pay is based on your total wage bill (the amount you pay your employees in a year). Here the word ‘employees’ specifically means individuals on the payroll and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) subcontractors who you make a CIS deduction from. This is defined by Industrial Training legislation.
- What can you get CITB grants and funding for?
CITB grants cover day to day training and other funds cover specific projects and commissions. Grants contribute to the cost of training and qualifying your workforce in construction-related subjects across the following three categories:
- What are roof training groups?
The National Roof Training Group (NRTG) is the representative body for the UK Independent Roof Training Groups. The individual groups, source, provide and organise training needs, arrangements and solutions for their roofing contractor members across:
- the North East
- Yorkshire & Humberside
- the North West & North Wales
- the Midlands
- Wales
- London & Southern Counties
- South West
- the South Coast
