The Rooflight Association

We are the trade association representing the UK’s rooflight industry, established over twenty years ago (originally as NARM, the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers). Today, our membership is open to rooflight manufacturers, installers, contractors, specifiers, distributors and other rooflight-related businesses and individuals. Our mission is to support best practice and to ensure growth and sustainability in all sectors of our industry. We are the UK’s pre-eminent independent provider of rooflighting technical information. 

SPRA

SPRA is the voice of the single ply roofing industry.

This trade association was established in 1992 and our mission is to achieve growth and sustainability in all sectors of the single ply roofing industry by raising the awareness of single ply technology, its value and ensuring manufacturing and installation standards remain high. SPRA is an increasingly influential voice in the roofing sector and is working in close co-operation with our sister trade associations to raise the overall profile of the UK roofing industry.

NFRC – National Federation for Roofing Contractors

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited is the UK’s largest roofing trade association. With a history spanning 125 years, NFRC has established itself as the voice of the roofing industry, constantly adapting to change and innovation to ensure its members are at the forefront.

LRWA is a member organisation and acknowledged specialist representing liquid waterproofing within the NFRC. This arrangement facilitates close and regular communication, with the goal of creating a more ‘joined up’ UK roofing industry in which product manufacturers, designers and installers are able to speak with a more unified voice to regulators. 

CITB – Construction Industry Training Board

CITB are the Industry Training Board and a partner in the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry in England, Scotland and Wales. It’s their job to work with industry to encourage training, which helps build a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce.
LRWA work closely with CITB when developing specialist training courses for the liquid roofing and waterproofing industry.

Build UK

Build UK is the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry. By bringing together Clients, Main Contractors, Trade Associations representing over 11,500 Specialist Contractors and other organisations committed to industry collaboration, Build UK represents in excess of 40% of UK construction. LRWA members have access to Build UK benefits. 

CPA – Construction Products Association

The Construction Products Association represents the UK’s manufacturers and distributors of construction products and materials. The sector directly provides jobs for 313,000 people across 21,000 companies and has an annual turnover of more than £50 billion.

The CPA acts as the leading voice to promote and campaign for this vital UK industry.

The CPA tracks and assesses government policies, interpreting those policies and regulations and provides expert advice, working with members and the wider construction supply chain to create consensus on issues, producing authoritative economic, technical and sustainability publications, or advocating on their members’ behalf. 

GRO – Green Roof Organisation

The Green Roof Organisation (GRO) is a partnership of Industry and Stakeholders coming together to develop guidance for specification, design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of Green Roofs. 

CPD UK

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities. We are pleased to be working with CPD Certification Services to provide liquid roofing professionals with even more CPD learning opportunities. 

TAF – Trade Association Forum

The Trade Association Forum is the leading representative body for associations in the UK, helping our members to engage, improve and lead their sectors.
The TAF work closely with the UK Government, as well as a huge range of partners and sponsors to help our associations deliver value for their members. Membership is open to any trade association based in the UK. 

IoR – Institute of Roofing

The IoR promotes improvement of skills and knowledge, for individuals working in the roofing industry, within the UK. The IoR is not a training provider, but works with colleges, roofing training groups and other training providers, in order to ensure roofing management and technician courses are available.

Go Construct

The Go Construct website showcases the many career opportunities available in construction and the built environment. The site helps to meet the future skills needs of the industry and to recruit a workforce that is diverse and ready for the challenge of the future. It aims to:

  Inspire people to consider a career in construction
•  Discover what a career in construction is really like
•  Experience the industry for themselves

LRWA and its members pledge support to the Go Construct initiative and to encourage people into the construction industry.
