Manufacturer product training
- Manufacturer product training
Product training does not lead to a qualification such as NVQ L2, but it does give an operative an introduction to the specific requirements of products and systems that a manufacturer sells. It is usually a requirement of the manufacturer that training has to be undertaken and kept up to date to get access to their products and possibly guarantees.
As part of our membership criteria, LRWA manufacturer members must provide training in the installation of their liquid applied membranes at a dedicated training facility, not a construction site, and must operate and maintain a register of trained specialist contractors. Courses can range from one to two days depending on manufacturer and can be chargeable.
- What does the course involve?
The basic criteria will remain the same however due to the different chemistries available the training will be bespoke and independent to the manufacturer.
- All the training will include each attendee to install minimum one type of liquid chemistry
- To learn about mixing rates, how to apply and other applicable installation processes
- Other training may include the theoretical side of the industry, including but not limited to Building Regulations and other standards of practice
- Where does the training take place?
The selected manufacturer’s training centre (nationwide locations)
- How much does the course cost?
Manufacturer’s product training may be chargeable or offered for free to all roofing contractors as part of the manufacturer’s and the LRWA’s commitment into training and bridging the skills gap.
